Productive Accounting or Busy Accounting

In the real estate industry whether it’s a general contractor or a trade, management moves quickly and always asks for cost reporting from various sources within their organization usually because clearly defined roles are never established.

A common problem in this field is defining the difference between productive accounting versus busy accounting. I’ve worked with many large companies that had mismanaged staff not being utilized to their potential because they were always kept busy. Implementing a valid CRM process can change busy work into tangible, quantifiable, productive work.

In your organization who is responsible, results driven, task oriented, understands the difference between urgent and important? These will be your productive staff members.

Busy people talk about how busy they are, put off unfinished tasks, always distracted, and have several tabs open on their computer.

Utilizing busy accountants to prepare cost packages creates delays in payment processing which snowballs into cash flow shortfalls.

A busy business owner should not have to ask more than one staff member for cost reporting; I have all of the tools to put into place and reporting packages that can be automated and business decisions that can be made using real time financial dashboards.
