Quickbooks Online AI is an absolute disaster

Why is no one talking about what an absolute disaster the QuickBooks Online AI rollout has been?

It feels like Intuit forgot that accounting isn’t one-size-fits-all.

This global AI feature is automating mistakes at scale—especially for general contractors and project-based businesses that allocate the same type of expense to different jobs.

The AI doesn’t know your job costing structure.
It doesn’t know which purchase belongs to which project.
And it’s certainly not trained to understand the nuances of construction accounting.

Rolling this out globally without industry-specific customization is reckless.

If you’re a general contractor relying on accurate job cost reports, be warned:
✅ You could be reviewing miscategorized transactions
✅ Job profitability will be skewed
✅ And you’ll spend more time fixing AI errors than it would take to do it manually.

AI is a tool—not a replacement for industry knowledge.
Until it understands that, it has no business categorizing your books.

Are you seeing issues with the new AI feature in QBO?
Let’s talk about it 👇
